Goldfields Honey, Bee and Pollination Services Pty Ltd (Goldfields) is located at Vittoria NSW which is situated half way between the major cities of Bathurst and Orange.

The surrounding area is the very fertile Central Ranges Region of New South Wales. This region is the hub of agriculture which produces some of the finest food and produce in Australia.

Goldfields is a very unique company as it engages in many areas of the apiculture industry. Managing Director, Grant Lockwood is an expert in his field, being a beekeeper for more than 30 years, his knowledge of bees, breeding, flora, honey and pollination is vast. This is a family run operation with all six members of the Lockwood family being involved in the business.

Goldfields employs between 10-15 people with each employee being multi-skilled thus sharing and understanding the passion for the industry.

HONEY

Goldfields Honey, Bee and Pollination Services Pty Ltd (Goldfields) not only produces premium Australian honey but also buys honey from other selected Australian beekeepers. Goldfields honey range is extensive. Packing pre-pack for the supermarket shelf, fruit and vegetable markets to bulk honey for food service, manufacturing and export.

Honey is packed in straight line floral varieties or blended to suit specific tastes or colour.

Goldfields not only pack honey under their own label but also contract packs for companies who prefer to use their own label.

No customer is too small or too large at Goldfields, we always understand your requirements.

Goldfields also has a gourmet range of honey which is the beekeepers reserve. (This honey is specially selected from the beekeepers (Grant Lockwood's) favourite floral varieties that are in season). He often packs unusual varieties such as Nupunya, Macadamia and Bloodwood.

Our honey packing plant is Quality Assured with B-Qual Aust. Pty Ltd which implements HACCP standards.

BEESWAX

Goldfields Honey, Bee and Pollination Services Pty Ltd produces beeswax each year which is sold for candle making, cosmetics and furniture wax.

Goldfields cleans the beeswax and packages it in blocks for manufacturing or in small quantities for individual use.

POLLINATION AND PRODUCTS

Pollination is the transfer of pollen from the male to the female flower so as to initiate fertilization of the seed which results in the fruit. Many foods need cross-pollinating, farmers and orchardists rent beehives from beekeepers for this purpose.

Goldfields Honey, Bee and Pollination Services P/L (Goldfields) ensures they have the best hives available with a high population of brood (bee eggs) and bees for optimum pollination results.

Bees are trucked each year to almond orchards in Western Victoria and also Goldfields bees pollinate apple, cherry, plum and apricot crops in their local area.

Lucerne, pumpkin, watermelon and rockmelon are other crops pollinated.

QUEEN BEES

Goldfields Honey, Bee and Pollination Services Pty Ltd (Goldfields) operates 10,000 queen rearing hives to meet the needs of domestic and international beekeepers requirements for queen bees.

Products produced from bees (honey, beeswax, pollen, propolis and pollination services) cannot be produced unless each beehive has young well bred queens. Goldfields Apiaries engages the services of an entomologist and specialised team of queen breeders to produce high quality queen bees.
