October 20th, 1944 - A PROMISE NOT BROKEN - Red beach in Palo, Leyte where elements of the US Sixth Army stormed ashore - followed shortly by General Douglas Macarthur, President Sergio S. Osmena, General Carlos P. Romulo and several other American military officers. They waded in knee-high waters to the shore to fulfill Macarthur's famous, “I shall return” promise - The Philippines was Liberated.
October 9, 1979 - A NOBLE VISION - Col. Simeon Marcos Valdez along with many of his Countrymen helped US General Douglas Macarthur defend the Philippines against the Japanese during the Second World War. Borne out of a noble vision and a continuing desire to help his fellow countrymen and their families, the War Hero incorporated and registered the Veterans Overseas Placement Corporation Inc., (VOPC) with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) in the Philippines. Simeon Marcos Valdez or "Uncle Sim" as he is affectionately called is the Uncle of two former Philippine Presidents, Ferdinand E. Marcos and Fidel V. Ramos. A lawyer, political leader, lawmaker, patriarch, and businessman he and Ambassador Alfonso Yuchengco co-founded the RCBC Bank (Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation) in the Philippines. In 2007, wishing to allocate more time with family and the pursuit of more leisurely activities, Col. Valdez sought to transfer the shares of his beloved corporation. On May 22nd 2007- a consortium of prominent Filipinos and Australian interests signed the MOU reflecting the transfer of all of the shares of stocks of all stock holders of VOPC Inc.
May 23, 2007 - Today VOPC has transitioned to become known as the Recruitment Center Philippines Inc (RCP) and its owners continue to uphold the values of the founder
